In the last month or so, two of my favorite shelter magazine have closed. The magazines, domino and “O” at Home, are no longer publishing. Yes, I guess it is the sign of the times but I am still bummed. Home style changes so fast that by the time some books get published cutting edge tips and designs have come and gone. Magazine print cycle is faster so you can (er–rather could) keep up with the trends.
What is your favorite shelter magazine? I need a new favorite to fill the void. What do you suggest?

The Realtor Magazine, the national magazine for real estate agents, recently published a great article on selling during the holidays.
The article, Holiday Decor That Brings Out the Best, by Barbara Ballinger highlights key points such as
- add tasteful, generic decorations,
- trade non-seasonal for seasonal decorations,
- keep up decorations for a limited time,
- use timely marketing materials.
It is a valuable article to share with those selling their house right now. It gives sellers and Realtors specific suggestions on how to balance enjoying the holidays without compromising being ready to sell.

I received a new magazine in yesterday’s mail called HOME by Buffalo Spree.
I have heard rumblings that this new bi-annual magazine was going to be good. It exceeded my expectations. It is GREAT!

In the most recent edition trade magazine, Home Accent Today, there is list of the best and brightest retail stores 2008. I was thrilled to see a store in my geographic area made the list.
Jenss Décor is one of the largest stores of its kind in the Eastern United States featuring the world’s finest collectibles, crystal, giftware and china.
